Planned Giving For Ordinary People
Some organizations receive up to one third of their annual gift revenue through planned gifts. Perhaps your non-profit is considering a planned giving program, but you’re not sure where to start? Or maybe you’ve received a few estate gifts, but haven’t put a structured program in place? You might even think that your donors are just “ordinary people” and can’t make a planned gift.
“Planned Giving for Ordinary People” has a double meaning. This session will help “ordinary” professionals understand planned giving, and also demonstrate that any non-profit can launch a planned giving program and all donors – even “ordinary people” – can make planned gifts.
This program will help you understand various planned giving vehicles, identify potential planned giving prospects among your donors and feel confident to start or enhance a planned giving program within your organization. You will receive concrete examples of how to talk about planned gifts with your supporters.
Amy Sajko, CFRE, brings a unique perspective to planned giving. In addition to fundraising major and planned gifts since 1996, she was a bank trust officer for five years – administering charitable trusts and estates as well as advising clients on their charitable giving.

SPEAKER BIO:
Amy Sajko brings nearly three decades of nonprofit fundraising and executive leadership to her work as a consultant with Ashley|Rountree and Associates, where her specialty is planned giving. Her career has moved back and forth between fundraising and wealth management, where she managed charitable trusts, endowments, and estates. That technical understanding of planned giving, paired with two decades of donor cultivation experience, lets her speak the language of both the donor and the advisor at the same table.
Amy is wrapping up her time as CEO of the International Association of Administrative Professionals Foundation, where she stepped in just as an $11 million windfall changed the scale of what the Foundation could do. She helped the board chart a new fundraising strategy, invest in capacity building and scholarships, and rebuild a once-strained relationship with IAAP’s board into a true partnership.
A Certified Fundraising Executive since 2002, Amy lives in Louisville with her husband of 35+ years and their dog, Jack Jack. She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and is (endlessly!) working to master wheel thrown pottery.
